Harpswell Inn Spring 2010 Newsletter

Spring came early to Harpswell this year. The lawns are green and the daffodils are already in full bloom. We had some heavy snowstorms early in the winter, but were spared of the late spring snows that seem to happen most years.

Dick decided it was time to get a new knee and is recovering nicely. He even hopped aboard the John Deere this week for the first time since the surgery. Incidentally the John Deere has all new hydraulics and was more than ready to dig some holes, knock down some trees, and haul around the canoes.

The Great Room’s fireplace is stocked with wood and ready for those cold nights that still creep in during early spring. Read your favorite novel fireside or tackle a puzzle at sunset by the west facing windows.

Additional Items and Trivia

We have applied for a wine license for spring.

2010 Prices have remained at the same amount. Keep tuned to the website for spring and Early-Bird specials.

Maine Lobsters are still a great deal! Five Boats have launched in our harbor so far this season. Nothing tastes better than fresh lobster right off the dock over the hill from our Inn.

We are really missing our beloved dog Casco but his brother Bailey is getting along OK and is now the Alfa Dog at the Inn.

We are looking forward to the Bowdoin College families who visit us through out the spring and summer.

The Maine seas were rough this winter and have changed the coast dramatically. Be sure to visit Reed State Park or Popham Beach to see nature’s wrath firsthand. You will be sure to find lots of interesting artifacts that the Atlantic washed up on your beach-combing adventure.
